Linktree is a link-in-bio tool: one page at linktr.ee/yourname that lists all your links, so one tap on your Instagram or TikTok profile reaches everything you do. People use it to point that single profile link at their latest video, shop, newsletter or booking page. It's free to start, and paid plans run from $9 to $35 a month in the US.

How to make a Linktree
Linktree's help center gives four steps:
- Sign up at linktr.ee, or in the Linktree app.
- Choose a username. It becomes your address: linktr.ee/username.
- Select a plan. Free is enough to start.
- Add your first links and pick a theme. Put the link you're pushing this week at the top.
Then copy your address from the Share button in the Linktree editor. Linktree's own guides for the next step describe older screens, so use the taps below.
Add your Linktree to Instagram
In the Instagram app, go to your profile, tap Edit profile, then Links, then Add external link, and paste your full linktr.ee address. Instagram allows up to 5 links.
Links can only be added in the app, not on the web. If the option still isn't there, how to add a link to your Instagram bio has the fixes.
Add your Linktree to TikTok
In the TikTok app, tap Profile, then Edit profile, and next to Links tap Add. Paste your linktr.ee address.
The Links option appears only once you have 1,000 followers or a Verified Business Account. A plain Business account doesn't unlock it. Until then, a linktr.ee address typed into your bio is plain text that nobody can tap; TikTok link in bio requirements covers both ways in.
Checked October 2026: Linktree's Instagram help article (July 2025) still says to paste the address into Instagram's "Website field"; Instagram's help now puts profile links under Edit profile → Links. Linktree's TikTok guide (March 2026) says "All TikTok business accounts can add a bio link, regardless of follower count"; TikTok's help says you need "at least 1,000 followers, or … a Verified Business Account".
How Linktree works: one page behind one link
A Linktree is a single mobile page with your name, a photo, a stack of buttons and a row of social icons. A visitor taps the link on your profile, lands on the page, and taps the button they came for.
You run it from Linktree's editor. Add a link, reorder it, swap in this week's post, and the page changes everywhere it's linked. Your Instagram and TikTok profiles stay as they are.
It exists because bio text can't be tapped and profile links are scarce. So the profile link points to a page, and the page holds the rest. A Linktree is one brand of that idea; what a link in bio is explains the idea itself, and link in bio basics covers the rest of the setup.
Linktree says "more than 70 million people worldwide" use it (its About page, October 2026).
What to put on your Linktree, by who you are
Any mix of links, products, bookings and sign-up forms. Three examples, built from Linktree's own feature list:
- A creator or podcaster: this week's episode on top, the YouTube channel and Spotify below, a newsletter sign-up, then social icons. The top slot changes every time an episode goes out.
- A musician: the new single on every streaming service, tour dates, merch.
- A coach or small business: a booking button first, then the website, reviews and a contact form. Bookings are on every Linktree plan, Free included, and they connect to Google Calendar.
Checked October 2026: page contents from Linktree's link-in-bio feature page; bookings from its bookings page: "Bookings are included in every Linktree plan" and "Connect your Google calendar to track all incoming bookings" (both read 14 October).
What Linktree costs in 2026
Free costs nothing. Paid plans add design and analytics, and Pro is the first plan that can charge for anything:
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly, per month | Selling digital products, courses and bookings | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | — | Free ones only | — |
| Starter | $9 | $7 | Free ones only | None |
| Pro | $17 | $14 | At any price, 0% Linktree fees | 7 days |
| Premium | $35 | $30 | At any price, 0% Linktree fees | 7 days |
Checked 24 October 2026 on Linktree's pricing page, read in US dollars from outside the US (the page shows local currency by region). Linktree's US App Store listing charges $7.99, $14.99 and $34.99 a month, and $143.99 a year for Pro. Until at least 13 October the page showed $8, $15 and $35, and a 12% / 9% / 9% / 0% cut on sales. Processing from Linktree's fees article.
Three things the plan cards don't make obvious:
- Free and Starter can't charge. Products, courses and bookings on those plans must be free; selling at a price starts on Pro.
- Card processing comes on top. Linktree's fees article puts Stripe's processing at 2.9% + $0.30 per purchase, and the pricing page notes that "transaction and processing fees may apply" on the 0% plans.
- Free pages may show ads. In a test Linktree's help center describes (July 2026), ads run "on select Linktrees on a Free plan in eligible countries", shown "briefly between a visitor clicking your link and reaching the destination website". Ads "never appear on paid Linktree plans".
What each plan unlocks is worked out in Linktree pricing.
What Linktree does well, and where it stops
The free plan has no link limit and needs no card. Every plan collects email sign-ups. From Pro you can download them as a CSV, sync them to Mailchimp, Klaviyo or Kit, and connect Google Analytics.
The limits are just as plain:
- No custom domain. Linktree's help center: "We don't offer the option to use a custom domain to replace the linktr.ee URL." Every page stays at linktr.ee/yourname.
- The Linktree logo until Pro. Free and Starter pages carry it; removing it starts on Pro.
- Short memory on Free. Analytics go back 28 days; a full year needs Pro.
Checked October 2026: custom domains from Linktree's help center (read 14 October); CSV download and syncing from its paid plan features article (read 7 November); logo and analytics by plan from its pricing page (2 October).
Mistakes that cost you taps
- Never reordering. If the post says "new episode" and the top button is last month's, the visitor leaves.
- Planning to sell before checking your country. Paid digital products, courses and bookings can be sold from 35 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia and most of the EU. Linktree Shops and sponsored links are US-only.
- Asking Linktree to refund an app subscription. Plans bought in the app are refunded only by Apple or Google. On the web, Linktree's terms call payments non-refundable, with a possible exception if you cancel within 72 hours.
Checked October 2026: countries from Linktree's help center, refunds from its terms (effective 5 July 2026); both read 2 October.
Should you use Linktree?
- You want a list of links today: Linktree Free does it. Accept the logo and, possibly, the ads.
- You want a page that looks like your brand: that's Pro.
- You sell, or plan to: that's Pro at $17, at 0% Linktree fees; compare it with the alternatives first. Linktree vs Beacons runs the numbers for both, and the Linktree alternatives covers nine other tools.
If you want something simple on day one with nothing to outgrow, InBio is built that way. A clean page takes a minute; when you start selling, Business ($29 a month) adds digital downloads and bookings at 0% through your own Stripe. Like Linktree, it has no custom domains yet.
If you're starting with Linktree, make the page now, put this week's link at the top, and paste linktr.ee/yourname into your profile's Links.
