Eight of the eleven link in bio tools we checked on 2 October 2026 take no commission on at least one plan; every other plan that sells takes a seller or transaction fee of 2% to 12%, and card processing comes on top of all of them. The 0% starts on Beacons Creator Plus ($30 a month), InBio Business ($29), Komi Pro ($20), Linktree Premium ($35), Payhip Pro ($99), Stan Store Creator ($29) and Taplink Business. Carrd takes nothing because you embed the checkout yourself. Gumroad (10% + 50¢ a sale), Milkshake (7% to 12%) and Lnk.Bio's shop (5%) take a cut on every plan.
Once you sell more than about $580 a month, a $29 plan at 0% costs less than even a 5% cut. InBio Business is one of those plans, paid out through your own Stripe.
Checked October 2026: every fee was read on 2 October 2026 on the vendor's own pricing page or help center, except where a note under the fee table says otherwise.
Seller fees by plan: who takes a commission, and which plan removes it
"Cut" is the platform's own fee, a percentage of the sale price. Card processing is separate and comes in the next section. Tools are in alphabetical order; each name links to the page the fee comes from.

Where the vendors' own pages disagree, or say less than the table needs:
- Linktree Pro. The Pro card on Linktree's pricing page says "Sell and earn with 0% fees", but the fee table further down the same page says 9% for Pro, as does Linktree's own February 2026 blog. The table uses 9%, as does our breakdown of Linktree's plans; if 0% on Pro matters to you, confirm it in your account before you pay for it. Linktree also shows prices by region and renders them in the browser, so its US prices come from two write-ups, from April and October 2026.
- Taplink's price. Its price page shows local currency by region, so the US figure comes from Taplink's own blog, which puts Business at $8 a month billed annually. Check the price in your currency before you count on it.
- Lnk.Bio states the 5% on its shop page but not which plan unlocks the shop.
- Komi Starter is listed as free, but its comparison table leaves "Add Digital Products" blank for Starter, so selling starts on Pro.
Link in bio tools with no fees on sales
These plans take 0% of what you sell, sorted by the cheapest way to get there (checked 2 October 2026 on each vendor's own page, US prices billed monthly unless noted):
- Carrd Pro Standard: $19 a year. No cut, because there's no Carrd checkout: you embed Stripe, PayPal or Gumroad, and the embed's own fees apply.
- Taplink Business: about $8 a month, billed yearly. The cheapest built-in checkout at 0%; the price is from Taplink's blog, since its price page shows local currency.
- Komi Pro: $20 a month, or $16 billed yearly. Its free Starter can't sell.
- InBio Business: $29 a month, or $290 a year. Paid out through your own Stripe, with paid bookings on the same page.
- Stan Store Creator: $29 a month. No free plan; money runs through a Stripe account Stan manages, with a payout fee covered below.
- Beacons Creator Plus: $30 a month. Free and Creator ($10) take 9%.
- Linktree Premium: $35 a month. Free takes 12%, Starter and Pro 9%.
- Payhip Pro: $99 a month. Free takes 5% and Plus 2%.
Outside these eleven, Hopp by Wix says it takes 0% on every plan, free included. "No fees" never means no costs: card processing applies to every one of them, as the next section shows.
Card processing applies even at 0%
Each tool either passes the card processor's fee through or says it's separate. On Stripe's standard US rate of 2.9% + 30¢, a $25 sale costs about $1.03, or 4.1%. On a $10 product the fixed 30¢ alone is 3%, so the share climbs to 5.9%.
Linktree's fee article says Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ applies on every plan, Premium included. Gumroad's 10% + 50¢ excludes processing, which it adds at 2.9% + 30¢; only its Discover marketplace sales carry a flat 30% that already includes it. Payhip, Lnk.Bio, Milkshake and Taplink each say their fee is separate from the processor's. InBio uses your own Stripe account, so Stripe's rates apply.
Beacons and Komi don't state a processing rate on their pricing pages. Beacons pays out to your Stripe or PayPal, so expect that processor's rate.
What you keep: past $2,000 a month, the cut decides more than the plan price
The assumptions: a $25 product, so 20, 80 and 200 sales a month, on monthly billing. "You keep" is sales minus the plan, the platform's cut and 2.9% + 30¢ processing on every sale, assumed at Stripe's rate for Beacons, Komi and Taplink. Stan's rows include its payout fee for one payout a month. Sorted by what you keep at $2,000.
| Tool and plan | Keep at $500 | Keep at $2,000 | Keep at $5,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carrd Pro Standard + Stripe embed | $477.92 | $1,916.42 | $4,793.42 |
| Taplink Business, at $8 billed yearly | $471.50 | $1,910.00 | $4,787.00 |
| Komi Pro | $459.50 | $1,898.00 | $4,775.00 |
| InBio Business | $450.50 | $1,889.00 | $4,766.00 |
| Beacons Creator Plus | $449.50 | $1,888.00 | $4,765.00 |
| Stan Store Creator, after one payout | $449.05 | $1,883.95 | $4,753.76 |
| Linktree Premium | $444.50 | $1,883.00 | $4,760.00 |
| Payhip Plus | $440.50 | $1,849.00 | $4,666.00 |
| Payhip Pro | $380.50 | $1,819.00 | $4,696.00 |
| Payhip Free | $454.50 | $1,818.00 | $4,545.00 |
| Beacons Creator Max | $379.50 | $1,818.00 | $4,695.00 |
| Stan Store Creator Pro, after one payout | $379.05 | $1,813.95 | $4,683.76 |
| Milkshake Pro+ | $434.50 | $1,768.00 | $4,435.00 |
| Beacons Free | $434.50 | $1,738.00 | $4,345.00 |
| Milkshake Pro | $427.51 | $1,731.01 | $4,338.01 |
| Linktree Starter | $426.50 | $1,730.00 | $4,337.00 |
| Beacons Creator | $424.50 | $1,728.00 | $4,335.00 |
| Linktree Pro | $419.50 | $1,723.00 | $4,330.00 |
| Linktree Free, Milkshake Free, Gumroad (direct) | $419.50 | $1,678.00 | $4,195.00 |
| Milkshake Lite | $416.51 | $1,675.01 | $4,192.01 |
Lnk.Bio is left out of the ranking because the plan its shop needs isn't stated. Before any plan price, its 5% keeps $454.50, $1,818 and $4,545.
About $58 a month at $500 in sales, $238 at $2,000 and $598 at $5,000: that's the gap between the best 0% option, Carrd's embed, and a 12% cut. Over a year at $2,000 a month it comes close to $2,900. The $99 and $100 plans at 0% keep $70 a month less than a $29 or $30 plan at 0%, at every volume here.
Where each percentage plan stops being cheaper
A cut beats a flat fee only while sales are small. The table shows the monthly sales at which each percentage plan starts costing more than a 0% plan at $20 or at $29 a month.
| Cut and plan price | Example | Costs more than $20 at 0% past | Costs more than $29 at 0% past |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5%, no plan | Payhip Free, Lnk.Bio's shop (before its plan) | $400 | $580 |
| 9%, no plan | Beacons Free | $222 | $322 |
| 7% + $10 | Milkshake Pro+ | $143 | $271 |
| 9% + $6.99 | Milkshake Pro | $145 | $245 |
| 12%, no plan | Linktree Free, Milkshake Free; Gumroad on a $25 product | $167 | $242 |
| 9% + $8 | Linktree Starter | $133 | $233 |
| 12% + $2.99 | Milkshake Lite | $142 | $217 |
| 9% + $10 | Beacons Creator | $111 | $211 |
| 9% + $15 | Linktree Pro | $56 | $156 |
Against Beacons Creator Plus ($30) or Linktree Premium ($35), each line moves up a little: a 5% cut crosses at $600 and $700. Gumroad's line moves with your price, because its 50¢ is a bigger share of a cheap product: at $10 a product its fee is 15%, at $50 it's 11%. The Instagram-bio selling guide runs the same kind of numbers for four ways to sell.
Payout, currency and pay-later fees come on top
The cut and the card fee aren't always the whole bill:
- Stan's payout fee. Stan's fee article lists 0.25% + 25¢ per payout (minimum $1), plus 1% when a product is priced in a different currency from your Stripe account. It applies because by default your money runs through a Stripe account Stan manages. At $2,000 a month, one payout costs about $5.
- Stripe's payouts. Payouts on Stripe's standard schedule are free; Instant Payouts cost 1.5% (minimum 50¢).
- International cards and currency. Stripe adds 1.5% for an international card and 1% when currency conversion is needed. Sell a $25 file to a buyer abroad and processing goes from about 4.1% to 5.6% or more.
- Buy now, pay later. Klarna through Stripe costs 5.99% + 30¢: about $1.80 on a $25 sale against $1.03 for a card, 77¢ more. Stan's article lists Afterpay at 6.0% + 30¢. Beacons offers Klarna or Affirm from Creator Plus.
- Marketplace sales. Gumroad's 30% applies to buyers who find you through its Discover marketplace, not to buyers from your own link.
Gumroad and Payhip handle sales tax; on the rest, you do
The merchant of record is the seller in law: the name on the buyer's receipt, and the party responsible for sales tax and VAT.
Gumroad has been merchant of record since 1 January 2025; in its words, "we manage sales tax collection and remittance worldwide." Payhip handles tax on digital products another way. For EU and UK buyers it acts as your reseller and is "100% responsible for digital EU/UK VAT"; in the US and Canada it is "responsible for collecting and paying sales tax here and not you."
Everywhere else, the tax is yours. Linktree's selling guide says so plainly: "you are the seller of record." Stan lets you switch on Stripe's automatic tax calculation, but only for the region you're registered in. On InBio, Milkshake, Taplink, Lnk.Bio and Carrd embeds, the sale lands in your own payment account. If you sell to buyers in other countries, ask an accountant before the first sale; it can matter more than the fee.
How to check a tool's fee before you commit
Fees move, and vendors don't update every page at once; Linktree's Pro card and fee table, above, disagree on the same page. Before you pick a plan for its fee:
- Read the pricing page, not the homepage or the blog. Search it for "transaction fee", "seller fee" or "platform fee", and note the plan each one sits on.
- Find the fee article in the help center. It says whether the cut is on the sale price (on Linktree and Gumroad it is) and whether processing is included (among the pages we read, only on Gumroad's Discover sales).
- Look for payout and currency lines. Who holds the money, how often it pays out, and what each payout costs.
- Sell yourself a $1 test product with your own card and read the payout breakdown. Gumroad, for one, lets you export a CSV of your sales with "a full breakdown of every sale".
- Screenshot the pricing page with the date. If the fee changes later, you'll know what you signed up for.
How we picked
Eleven tools: the link-in-bio pages with a checkout built in, plus Gumroad and Payhip, two stores people often link to from a bio, and Carrd, the cheapest page you can wire a checkout into yourself.
Course platforms such as Kajabi and Podia are in our Stan Store alternatives instead. Snipfeed's pricing page now redirects to Planoly, which sells its store inside a social-planner subscription. Other link pages (Bio.link, Bio.site, Later, Campsite, Hopp) weren't re-checked for this table.
Who should pick what, by sales volume
- A few sales a month while you test: Payhip Free, 5% with no subscription, and it handles sales tax and VAT for you. Gumroad costs more per sale but is the merchant of record.
- 0% for the least money, if you'll wire the checkout yourself: Carrd, $19 a year plus Stripe.
- 0% with a checkout built in, for the least: Taplink Business at about $8 a month billed yearly, or Komi Pro at $20 billed monthly.
- 0% through your own Stripe on a page that also takes paid bookings: InBio Business, $29, with a 14-day trial for first-time subscribers. Create your InBio page free today and switch selling on when the first product is ready.
- 0% on a store with courses: Stan Store Creator at $29 or Beacons Creator Plus at $30.
- Already paying a cut on Linktree, Beacons or Milkshake: find your plan in the crossover table. If last month's sales were past its line, a 0% plan would have cost less. Our Linktree alternatives and options for leaving Beacons list where else to go.
Take last month's sales, find your plan's line in the crossover table, and if you're past it, move before next month's cut.
This comparison is part of our link in bio basics series.
We make InBio. Every tool here, InBio included, was checked the same way: on its own pricing page or help center, October 2026.
