Four link-in-bio tools have shut down since the start of 2024: Koji (31 January 2024), GoDaddy Studio's Link in Bio (12 January 2025), Shopify's Linkpop (7 July 2025) and Bento (13 February 2026). A fifth, Tap Bio, closes on 31 October 2026. Each belonged to a company with something else to sell. Linktree owned Koji and Bento and sent their users to Linktree. GoDaddy sent its users to its own Sites product, Shopify pointed to an App Store search, and Tap Bio points to Link in Profile, its sister product.
Only Bento told users to export before it closed, and an old bento.me link now lands on Linktree's homepage, not on your page. If your data wasn't exported, it's gone. If you're on Tap Bio, you still have days: copy your links now, then rebuild, swap the link everywhere, and pick a tool from the list below.
Checked 24 October 2026: Tap Bio's notice is on tap.bio itself. Bento's, Linkpop's, GoDaddy's and Koji's shutdown details come from each company's own posts, help pages or shutdown page, read from archived copies on the Wayback Machine where the original has moved. Koji's December 2023 announcement comes from TechCrunch. We loaded each tool's address to see where it goes now.
Every confirmed shutdown, side by side
| Tool | Owner | Announced | Shut | Pages and data | Owner's way out |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Koji | Linktree, bought from GoMeta | 14 Dec 2023 | 31 Jan 2024 | Site, accounts and pages off "as of February 1"; withkoji.com no longer loads | Linktree, three months of Pro; no export documented |
| GoDaddy Studio Link in Bio | GoDaddy | Undated help notice | 12 Jan 2025 | Old sites "become inactive" | Rebuild on GoDaddy Sites; "no way to export" |
| Linkpop | Shopify | Notice online by 13 Jun 2025 | 7 Jul 2025 | No edits or new pages after 7 July; linkpop.com redirects to shopify.com | App Store search for "link in bio"; no export |
| Bento | Linktree, bought June 2023 | 18 Dec 2025 | 13 Feb 2026 | Data deleted; profile links end on Linktree's homepage | Linktree, "a special Linktree Pro offer"; told to export first |
| Tap Bio | Tap Bio, Inc. | Notice on tap.bio, undated | 31 Oct 2026 | Not stated by Tap Bio; Taplink, a competitor, says pages are deleted | Link in Profile, same company, 50% off |
Tap Bio, Bento, Linkpop and Koji alternatives: who should go where
- On Tap Bio: move before 31 October. Link in Profile is the move Tap Bio offers, at 50% off. If you'd rather leave the company, our Tap Bio alternative page shows the move to InBio: your photo, bio and socials arrive at sign-up, and you copy your links across.
- Ex-Bento: Linktree, if you took the Pro offer; its Starter plan has collection layouts for groups of links. Or InBio: a clean page in a minute, with every theme and layout from Beginner at $4 a month.
- Ex-Linkpop, selling from a Shopify store: Hopp by Wix. The standard plan is free, Hopp says it takes 0% of sales on every plan, and a link to each product page does what Linkpop did.
- Ex-Koji, selling courses, coaching or downloads: Stan Store, 0% of sales from $29 a month. Selling only now and then: Beacons' free plan, at 9% of each sale.
- Ex-GoDaddy Studio: GoDaddy's Sites, the direct successor.
Checked 24 October 2026, each on the company's own pages: Linktree Starter ($9 a month) has collection layouts; selling at a price (products, courses, bookings) starts on Pro at $17 a month, with 0% Linktree fee; Free and Starter can offer free ones only. Stan Store: Creator $29 a month, 0% of sales. Beacons: 9% on Free and Creator, 0% from Creator Plus at $30 a month. Hopp: free standard plan, paid plans from $8 a month (prices vary by region), 0% platform fee.
The full field, prices included, is in our Linktree alternatives comparison.
Tap Bio: closing 31 October 2026, pointing to Link in Profile
Tap Bio says it on its own homepage, in a card titled "Important Announcement": "We're winding down Tap Bio. Your service continues until Oct 31, 2026. No action needed now. Get 50% off Link in Profile (9+ years strong) with codes TB50M/TB50Y." The notice carries no date and says nothing about what happens to pages or data after 31 October.
Taplink, a competing tool, wrote that Tap Bio's support told users pages will be deleted and can't be exported as a file (Taplink's post). We couldn't confirm that with Tap Bio, so plan as if it's true: copy every link and image you want to keep before the 31st.
Link in Profile belongs to the same company, Tap Bio, Inc., and was taking sign-ups on 24 October 2026. If you'd rather move somewhere else, the Tap Bio alternative page walks through a move to InBio in about a minute.
Bento: bought by Linktree, closed, and redirected to Linktree's homepage
Linktree announced the acquisition on 5 June 2023. Bento told users "nothing is changing today" (Bento's announcement, archived).
On 18 December 2025 Bento posted its sunset: "Bento platform will shut down on February 13th, 2026. Ahead of the shutdown, Bento users will receive an email with details on how to migrate to Linktree, including a special Linktree Pro offer." After the shutdown, "your Bento user and profile data will be deleted and Bento pages will redirect to Linktree, so please make sure to export anything you wish to retain before then" (Bento's sunset post, archived). The terms of the Pro offer weren't published, so we can't say whether it's still open.
On 8 October 2026 we loaded bento.me/jordan, a profile the Wayback Machine archived in August 2025. It ended on https://linktr.ee/, Linktree's homepage, as did every other bento.me address we tried, and it still did on 24 October. Anyone scanning a printed Bento QR code lands there, not on the owner's new page.
Bento's post also says Linktree has been adding "features inspired by Bento's visual layouts, content blocks, and media embeds".
Linkpop: Shopify retired it and pointed to the App Store
Linkpop was Shopify's own link-in-bio tool, filed in its help center under online sales channels. A banner on linkpop.com, first archived on 13 June 2025, read: "Linkpop is retiring on July 7th, 2025. After July 7th, you won't be able to edit your existing pages or create new pages."
It went on: "To discover similar link in bio apps, visit our App Store." Shopify's help page added that from 7 July "new signups for Linkpop are no longer permitted". It linked to an App Store search for "link in bio" and named no app (Shopify Help, archived).
Shopify's notice says only that editing and sign-ups stopped. Third-party write-ups disagree about whether pages stayed visible after 7 July, and we couldn't settle it. linkpop.com now redirects to shopify.com.
Koji: Linktree bought it and closed it seven weeks later
Koji had more than 700,000 creators when Linktree announced the purchase on 14 December 2023. Its link-in-bio product would "shut down on January 31, 2024", and Koji users were offered "three months of Linktree's Pro plan as a trial" (TechCrunch).
Koji's own page then said: "As of February 1, 2024, all site access, account access, live Koji Link-in-bio, and Koji applications have been shut down." Below it sat a "Join Linktree" button (Koji's shutdown page, archived). withkoji.com no longer loads.
GoDaddy Studio's Link in Bio: retired, rebuild from scratch
GoDaddy Studio made Link in Bio pages on go.studio addresses. On 12 January 2025 GoDaddy moved the product into its Website Builder as "Sites". Its help page told users of the old version: "your site will be retired on January 12, 2025 and you'll need to recreate your site on our new platform."
There was nothing to carry over: "Unfortunately there's no way to export your old Link in Bio to the new platform; you'll need to recreate it from scratch." Old sites "will become inactive and your customers will no longer be able to see your site" (GoDaddy Help, read from an April 2025 archive).
Snipfeed: folded into Planoly, no closure date
Planoly announced it had bought Snipfeed, a creator storefront, on 22 April 2024, and removed Snipfeed's transaction fees the same day (Planoly). Archived captures show snipfeed.co forwarding to Planoly's Creator Store from January 2025, and it still does. We found no notice to Snipfeed users about their pages, so there's no closure date to give.
Rumored or unclear: don't move on a rumor
- Smart.bio (Tailwind). smart.bio has returned "not found" in nearly every archived capture since late 2022, yet Tailwind's help center still lists Smart.bio guides. No closure notice.
- Planoly Linkit. Planoly said in April 2024 that "Linkit and Sellit are sticking around". Its Linkit pages now return "not found", with no notice.
- Flowpage (Flowcode). flowpage.com now forwards to Flowcode's landing-page product (FlowHubs). No dated notice.
- Linkr. linkr.bio shows only "Upgrading Linkr service. Stay tuned!"
Still running, checked October 2026
People ask whether these closed. They haven't; each site was up when we checked.
- Linktree, the category's best-known name, and the company that took in Koji's and Bento's users. No closure of its own has been announced.
- Squarespace Bio Sites, launched by Squarespace's Unfold: "Bio Sites is part of Squarespace."
- Linkfire (lnk.to). The company left the Stockholm stock exchange after a shareholder vote on 21 December 2023; the product, including its Bio pages, is still sold.
- Later's Link in Bio, Campsite, Milkshake, Shorby, hoo.be, Komi, Hopp by Wix, Carrd and Taplink.
- Link in Profile, Tap Bio's sister product, which Tap Bio's notice sends its users to.
Moving off a closed tool in one evening
- Gather your links. If the tool is still up, export or copy them from the live page. If it has closed, start from your own records: Bento deleted user data, and GoDaddy offered no export.
- Rebuild the page. What a link in bio is for helps decide what goes first.
- Swap the URL everywhere it lives in one sitting: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, your email signature. Where each platform keeps its link.
- Reprint QR codes and update anything printed. None of the closed tools forwards visitors to a page you choose.
How to pick a tool that won't strand you
Every tool here belonged to an established company, and that didn't keep it open. What limits the damage is what you control:
- Can you export? Links, sign-ups and images, as a file, before you need to.
- Can the link sit on your own domain? Then a closure costs you a rebuild, not your printed QR codes. Carrd's Pro Standard and Campsite's Pro include custom domains. InBio doesn't offer custom domains yet; every page lives at in.bio/yourname.
- Do you keep your own copy? A plain list of every link and where it's posted makes any move an evening's work.
Write that list tonight, whichever tool you're on.
