Terms of Service

Last updated: July 23, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of in.bio (the “Service”), a URL shortening, QR code, and link analytics service operated by InBio, Inc., a Delaware C corporation (“InBio”, “we”, “us”). By using the Service — with or without an account — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

in.bio lets you create shortened links that redirect to destinations you choose, generate QR codes for those links, and view analytics about how the links are used. We provide free tools (anonymous link shortening, a UTM builder, a QR code generator), free keyless APIs, official SDKs, an MCP server for AI agents, and paid subscription plans with additional features.

Links created without an account (“anonymous links”) are deleted automatically 30 days after creation unless claimed by an account. Links created with an account remain active while your account is in good standing, unless you delete them or set an expiration.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • One person or legal entity may not maintain multiple free accounts to circumvent plan limits.

3. Acceptable use

Your use of the Service must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these Terms. In short: no phishing, malware, spam, deceptive redirects, or illegal content. We scan destinations, may show warning interstitials, and may disable links or suspend accounts that violate the policy.

4. Paid plans and billing

  • Paid subscriptions (Pro and Business) are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis through our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; you keep paid features until the end of the current billing period.
  • Plan limits (such as links per month and tracked clicks) are described on the pricing page. Existing links keep redirecting even if you reach a limit.
  • First-time charges are refundable within 14 days on request. Renewal charges are generally not refunded, but contact us and we will try to find a fair outcome.
  • Prices may change; we will give at least 30 days’ notice before a change affects you.

5. APIs, SDKs, and automated access

  • The free endpoints (POST /api/shorten, GET /api/qr) require no account and are rate-limited per IP. The full REST API uses personal access tokens with scopes; you are responsible for keeping tokens secret and for all requests made with them.
  • Automated access — scripts, our SDKs, or AI agents (including via our MCP server) — is welcome within the published rate limits and this agreement. We may throttle, adjust limits, or block traffic that degrades the Service for others.
  • Our SDKs are open source under the MIT license; the Service itself and these Terms govern what you build with them.
  • Certain slugs are reserved (brand names, security-sensitive words) and custom slugs must be at least 4 characters; we may reclaim slugs that infringe trademarks or facilitate abuse.

6. Your content and data

You retain all rights to the destination URLs and metadata you submit. You grant us the limited license needed to operate the Service — storing your links, redirecting visitors, rendering QR codes, and generating analytics. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, create risk for the Service or its users, or are required to be terminated by law. Where reasonable, we will notify you and give you a chance to remedy the issue.
  • Upon account deletion, your links stop redirecting and your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Service availability and changes

We work hard to keep the Service fast and available, but it is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where the change materially affects paid functionality.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in.bio and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction — except that either party may bring qualifying claims in small-claims court.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give at least 14 days’ notice by email (for account holders) or a prominent notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
